Design Feature Endorsements

Once you have gained that precious licence one of the next steps you will want to take is to gain experience on more complex aircraft which often involves undertaking additional training.

CASA for certain Design Features require pilots to undertake a course of both theoretical training and in flight training before undertaking an assessment flight.

Flight Instructors or Flight Examiners can if they are already qualified on the particular Design Feature undertake the training and assessment.

Design Features requiring additional training and assessment:

  • Tailwheel undercarriage

  • Retractable undercarriage

  • Manual propeller pitch control (piston engine)

  • Gas turbine engine

  • Multi-engine centreline thrust

  • Pressurisation system

  • Floatplane

  • Floating hull

  • Ski landing gear

I can undertake training and assessment for the following Design Features:

  • Tailwheel undercarriage

  • Retractable undercarriage

  • Manual propeller pitch control

  • Gas Turbine

Call to discuss options for a training package for the applicable Design Feature.
